Grants & Standards

• Vehicles for which funding is required must have engines which have been homologated to Euro II, Euro III or Euro IV emissions standards. In practice, for passenger cars and car-derived vans, this means that most vehicles manufactured since 1.1.1997 (and a few manufactured in 1996) might be eligible.

• Applicants must have secured, or be aware of where they can obtain, fuel supply.

DO NOT place an order for a vehicle or a booking for conversion of an existing vehicle until you receive written offer of a grant.

• Grants will normally be paid to the vehicle operator but with written approval of the operator it can be paid to a finance house, vehicle manufacturer or converter. The vehicle operator must make the initial grant application.

• TransportEnergy also offers funding for projects demonstrating innovative demonstration projects.

Hybrid vehicles: the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight currently attract grants worth £1,000 per vehicle. Contact Toyota or Honda dealerships for further details.

• Note that grants are calculated as a percentage of the additional cost of purchase or conversion exclusive of VAT.

Please note that second hand clean fuel vehicles are not eligible for grant funding
