• Vehicles for which funding is required must have engines which have been homologated to Euro II, Euro III or Euro IV emissions standards. In practice, for passenger cars and car-derived vans, this means that most vehicles manufactured since 1.1.1997 (and a few manufactured in 1996) might be eligible.
• Applicants must have secured, or be aware of where they can obtain, fuel supply.
• DO NOT place an order for a vehicle or a booking for conversion of an existing vehicle until you receive written offer of a grant.
• Grants will normally be paid to the vehicle operator but with written approval of the operator it can be paid to a finance house, vehicle manufacturer or converter. The vehicle operator must make the initial grant application.
• TransportEnergy also offers funding for projects demonstrating innovative demonstration projects.
• Hybrid vehicles: the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight currently attract grants worth £1,000 per vehicle. Contact Toyota or Honda dealerships for further details.
• Note that grants are calculated as a percentage of the additional cost of purchase or conversion exclusive of VAT.
• Please note that second hand clean fuel vehicles are not eligible for grant funding
